Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians will face each other in a rescheduled Dublin derby at Tallaght Stadium on Monday, 12 October, with an 8pm kick-off confirmed by RTÉ.ie.

The fixture, originally set for an earlier date, has been moved to October as part of scheduling adjustments following Shamrock Rovers’ recent European campaign. The Hoops were eliminated from the UEFA Conference League play-off round by Finnish side KuPS last Thursday, which prompted a reshuffle of their domestic fixtures. This includes the rescheduling of their home game against Shelbourne, now set for this Friday at 8pm, also at Tallaght Stadium.

Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians have already met three times this season, with the Hoops winning the two most recent encounters. Bohemians claimed victory in the first meeting back in February, but Rovers have since turned the tide. The upcoming October 12 clash will be the final league meeting between the two sides this campaign.

Currently, Shamrock Rovers lead the League of Ireland Premier Division by five points, sitting atop the table with 55 points from 28 games (16 wins, 7 draws, 5 losses). Their recent form reads DWDWW, and they hold a game in hand over both St Patrick’s Athletic and Bohemians. Despite a 3-3 draw with Derry City on August 30, their attack has been potent, scoring 46 goals and conceding 27 for a +19 goal difference.

Bohemians, meanwhile, sit third in the table, behind St Patrick’s Athletic on goal difference. They are set to face St Patrick’s Athletic in an FAI Cup quarter-final on Saturday at 3.45pm, a match that will be broadcast live on RTÉ 2 and RTÉ Player. Later that day, Derry City will take on Dundalk in another FAI Cup quarter-final at the same time, also available on the same platforms.

Stephen Bradley continues to guide Shamrock Rovers, who are affectionately known as the Hoops by supporters. The club’s focus now shifts to maintaining their league advantage while handling a congested schedule that includes cup commitments and rearranged league fixtures.

Their next league fixture is an away trip to St Patrick’s Athletic on September 11, as they look to preserve their position at the summit of the Premier Division.
